As of the 14th of January theplayr.com staff including Danielle Angel will be blogging all the action direct from Crown Casino in The Land Down Under. The Main Event runs from Sunday 18th January with the final table set to be played Saturday 24th January with a first prize of $2,000,000.00 AUD
The heat in Australia right now is a killer with temperatures soaring beyond belief. The Aussie Millions Poker Championship for 2009 is also sure to bring some extra heat to the Land Down Under with some of the biggest names in poker present. ThePlayr.com will be right there, reporting, blogging, filming and doing whatever it takes to bring you an exclusive look at the action.
Not only are the players playing for the 2 million dollar first prize in the main event which has a buy in of $10,500AUD. They will be playing in other tournaments including the even bigger buy in NL Holdem' Challenge with a $100,000.00 buy in. This is a 2 day event and will see the biggest guns in poker paying entry and fighting their way to victory.
This Poker Championship is indeed the biggest by far in the Southern Hemisphere. We will of course follow every move for all tournaments as close as we can. We are also getting close and personal with some pro's at the casino and have started a thread where you can submit questions for us to ask them.

Wednesday 14th. : H.O.R.S.E, 2 day event kicks off.
Thursday 15th. : No Limit Holdem $1000+$150 AUD; Rebuy Tournament ($1000AUD rebuys) 2 day event. Also on this day, the Celebrity Media Challenge .... to enter or not to enter is the question here.
Friday 16th. : Feature Event - No Limit Holdem - Bounties Tourney AUD $1650
Saturday 17th. : The massive AUD $100,000.00 buy in NL Holdem' Challenge (2 day event)
Sunday 18th. : Aussie Millions Main Event DAY 1 ... main event to kick off at 12.30pm Aus time. Final Table to be held on January 24th.
