One player not dealt into the hand, hand freezes and player disconnect...you gotta laugh!
It was supposed to be a grand celebration and a huge giveaway to their players, however a series of mishaps turned the PokerStars 25 Billionth hand into some terrific unintended comedy.
First, player 'confederate' was waiting to post his big blind and was not actually dealt into the hand, so not eligible for the $200,000+ in prizes to be awarded...but nobody told him this for several minutes while PokerStars was announcing the prizes and the players were excitedly chatting at the table! In the screen shot above you can see when he was finally told by PokerStars support. We feel bad for the guy but you gotta laugh at that one!
Next after PokerStars was done talking and making a show of it, they released the hand to be played, the winner getting $150,000. But wait, player NeonFrost timed out! And the next player! Whats going on? At a $1 limit Omaha game you can be sure those players were paying attention with $150,000 on the line. What a time for PokerStars' software to have a glitch.
Ultimately they decided to chop the pot up and have the top two players split the $100k+ tournament packages and the bottom three all split $100k. Not a bad result for some low stakes player, but PokerStars sure botched this one.
