A lot of talk has been on Tom "Durrrr" Dwan's challenge, with Patrik Antonius sure to increase it as he confirms he will line up second behind Phil Ivey.
"It sounded too good to be true. I tried to figure out what would be the trap there and I still haven't really figured it out. But I'm sure he's really thought about it. For sure, he's one of the best at the moment" Antonious told CardPlayr Magazine.
Dwan challened anyone in the world (other than Phil Galfond), where he has wagered $1.5 million to anyone else's mere $500,000 in a 50,000 hand heads up match. There will be four tables played at once, with stakes of at least $200/$400 No Limit or Pot Limit Omaha.
Antonius thinks this will be a fun challenge where he can maybe play a couple hours here and there with breaks of up to a week. The total challenge is expected to take 80-90 hours and a few months time. Antonius is ready to go and says "I can start whenever. Basically, I can play whenever I have time to play online. I want to play when there's no action going on online."
Phil Ivey is expected to play before him, but the big gun Antonius does not mind playing first. He says it would be kind of stupid of him not to say he has the better chance against Durrrr. However Phil Ivey, Antonious says, is the greatest that he's ever played. "He just has something that most people can only dream of. I don't know how he does it. He just thinks differently. He's a very smart guy. It's going to be very interesting to see how they (Ivey and Durrrr) play." said Antonius.
