After the EPT Copenhagen Gus bet Theo $35,000 he could beat him in a boxing match, and though The Great Dane is in good shape, he was not match for Jorgensen in the ring.

Saturday afternoon held an event that had nothing to do with poker, yet captured the attention of much of the poker world, with the boxing match between two poker giants, Gus Hansen and Theo Jorgensen. The highly publicized match took place at 2:00pm EST during the kick-off for Hansen's new poker site, GusHansenTV.com, and just as the EPT Scandinavian Open was wrapping up in Copenhagen, Denmark. 

After three rounds into the fight, Jorgensen was ruled by the judges to be the winner, which would gain him $35,000. Apparently, the original bet was initiated by Jorgensen and would have won Hansen $25,000, if he had been the winner of the match. This is not the first time that these two friendly rivals have competed with each other off of the green felt; they are also known to compete against each other on the squash courts. Jorgensen said recently in a press release statement that this match was going to be more for the glory than the money and will be held over the other players' head for many years.  

The greatly anticipated boxing match even caught the attention of the players in the "Durrrr Challenge". In the 2+2 forums, there was chatter going on during the challenge, as it was noted that Durrrr and Patrik would be pausing the challenge to watch the boxing event. Durrrr said that he had 1k on Gus, while Patrik said that he got Theo by a flip of a coin with his friend.  

Although it may not have been visible while watching the bout, both poker players had been training with professional boxing trainers. Even though Hansen had hired and been training with the Olympic medalist, Johnny De Lima, the match ended with a bloody mouth for Hansen and full bragging rights going to his adversary, Jorgensen.
